Legislation increasingly requires companies to enforce standards around data residency – the physical location where customer data is stored and processed. To help our European customers meet their regulatory responsibilities, we’re excited to announce that Census’s Reverse ETL workflows can now run in our first European region, hosted in Frankfurt (AWS eu-central-1).
If you’re a European company or you hold data related to European customers, the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) includes guidelines on where and how data may be stored and transferred. With the use of our new EU region, your data will remain within the European Union throughout the duration of a Census sync. More details can be found within our documentation.
Data privacy and security are incredibly important to us at Census. We never store your data in our services, so you can be confident that your data is always safe and secure. Regardless of your Census region, Census consistently follows best practices around data encryption at rest and in-transit, meeting or exceeding all requirements for compliance under HIPAA and SOC2 Type II certifications.
Choosing a Reverse ETL vendor that processes data securely is critical. Reverse ETL workflows power personalized experiences for your customers, like timely email marketing campaigns and relevant sales outreach. To enable that, Reverse ETL syncs attributes about your customers from your data sources to specific destinations like your CRM and marketing automation platform. Your customers trust your organization to be good stewards of their data, avoiding the risk of data breaches, and we believe this trust must also be upheld by any vendors you select.
Interested in migrating your Census service to use EU-specific pipelines? The migration process can be completed in just a few minutes and is seamless – all of your existing syncs and models can be relocated automatically and effortlessly. We are currently migrating Platform tier customers, and we would be happy to assist you in transferring your workspace to use EU-specific infrastructure.
